ReadingStudents should be reading a good fit book for at least 20 minutes Monday-Thursday. Students are not required to fill out a reading log. Instead I feel it to be more meaningful if they create book trailers or book reviews to convince another classmate or teacher to either read or not read the text they have just finished. Students have not learned the criteria for either of these projects, so are not required to complete this assignment yet.
Rad-Kids is an online reading resource, which allows kids to listen, read, and show their understanding of good fit books online. Lexia is another great online resource, which helps support students foundational skills in a fun interactive way. The assignments change as the student progresses through each task, which are based upon their individual level.

MathStudents should be practicing their math facts Monday and Wednesday, as this will increase their efficiency when solving trickier problems. There will sometimes also be a correlating math assignment related to the mini lesson in class.
Reflex math is a fun online resource to help students get stronger with their math facts in a fun interactive way. |
